Hi sir,
I did have credit card with sbi cards unfortunately I was unable to make to payment for its dues because I lost my job as well as I lost my father on that time period. But as of now I already made settlement with the bank and made the payments on his term and condition. My main question, I got selected for up police as SI. Does credit card default or settlement effect my police verification? One more thing I would like to clear that I did not receive any call and legal notice from bank between the time period and I confirmed with the bank about civil suit but they informed me that this information is not updated in his system. So what should I do in this situation my police verification is about to come. Please help.

Police verification is with regard to the criminal record only of the candidate not the civil liabilities like credit card payment dues. If there exists no criminal complaint registered in any Police station of cognizable offence or in the court for non-cognizable offence than you should not worry. The payment of credit card payment is civil in nature unless you issue bank cheque to your creditor, that gets bounced because lack of sufficient fund in your bank account and criminal complaint u/s 138 of the Negotiable Instrument Act is filled against you in the court by the creditor.

Thanks for your response with in the mean time. I wish to confirm that I did not give any kind of cheque for my payment. Moreover I already made payment for settlement and I am waiting for NOC. In my whole life there is not single complaint in any police station not even in 151 except credit card default however, I already clear the dues. So please suggest sir.

Thanks for your nice words. Furthermore, bu today I get to know that suit was filed against my credit card but I did not recieve any kind of notice from court as well as I already made settlement this month with bank. Does it effect police verification. Please help the needful.
