Sikh marriage or Anand Karaj is valid form of marriage between two Sikhs being solemnised in the Gurudrwara. This marriage should be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act,1955 or the Special Marriage Act,1954 for the purposes to be used anywhere in the world for legal purposes.
The name of spouse can be added in the Indian passport using the valid marriage certificate issued by registrar of marriages under either of the above two mentioned Acts.
The Gurdwara certificate of Anand Karaj if is being used for addition of spousal name in the Indian passport, there has to be an additional affidavit as provided as an annexure with passport form that has to be given on Rs10 non-judicial stamp paper duly signed and notarised, check this out.
For spousal immigration to Canada, Gurdawara marriage record accompanied with the valid marriage certificate issued by the registrar of marriages in India will be required in case either of the spouse is Indian citizen.

You need to get it registered if you want to apply for visa. Rest its a valid marriage under HMA
