generally the birth record is maintained by the municipl authorities, u ll ve to visit the local municipal corporation or municipla committee or village patnchayat whatever is applicable.

In case you wish to change your date of birth the procedure adopted for the change in the date of birth is simple.

1. Go to the State Government Press in the Capital City of your state.
2. Ask them for the form for change of date of birth and obtain it.
3. Fill up the form and submit it.
4. Pay the requisite Fees in cash.
5. The Press would publish the details of the change of your date of birth and post you two copies of the Government Gazette or ask you to collect the same. The press would also let you know when they would publish the same.

6. Thereafter wherever you wish to submit your change of date of birth, you can submit true copies of the relevant pages of the Gazette.

With full grace I disagree with A. Vishal ji. When actual date of birth as per municipal record is different than depicting on later on prepared documents then why Govt. press shall go in favour of wrong side? Govt. Press can oblige if actual date of birth is to be inserted in the gazette. In the present matter the best remedy is to approach civil court filing case against Education Board praying therein to insert the actual dob in its record and subsequent record shall automatically follow.riven

Yes.... to avoid confusion and uncertanties, better to approach the court of law, as per Mr.Makkad's advice.riven
