Thia is the right method.

You can file and application into court to substitute the copy with the original. Judge once compare and then give it to you.

Some times , but not always , the misplacement of docuemtns in the Court records, is a problem. In fact the original suit docuements have to be filed along with the suit and it should be mentioned in the list of docuements that original is filed , you can also file xerox copy of the document and mention the same -origianl filed alogn with True Xerox copy- to avoid any problem -and get the original verified by CMO of Court and return to you , with permision of the Court. you can take the original docuement and submit beforfe the court that original will be filed at relevent time of markign of docuement as exihibits . You can follow as per local Court procedure and Practice - with regards!
