To get direction to dissolve defunct society

Ours is defunct society for 20 years in Tamilnadu.it was originally registered under societys Act 1975 in Tamilnadu. Petition to registrar was done but they have no power. Need court direction.. please advise

Yes. In most of states, the Registrar of Societies (not cooperative societies) have no powers. so consult local lawyer and file petition in District Court concerned for dissolution of Society and to handover assets if any.

Replies..Thanks to All.
1. The society as of now collect maint changes from 177 members@ 1200rs per month and other monies and operate bank accounts..No acs sent to registrar..
Prayer is to dissolve and form interim body
With the help of court order
Please advise.

Consult local lawyer to get best assist in that matter...without seeing your proper resolution and members pray...no one can help you online....so get help from local lawyer.
