Society issues:
Sir, I live in a society in Mumbai, without any proof the society keeps asking maintainence related charges. This happens every 8 months, this is apart from what we regularly pay monthly outgoings.
I approached the sub registar who did not even bother to listen to me
About 7 years ago, the society directly doubled the monthly out goings and gave no reason, our building has 9 occupants and is 22 years old ,can I find out how they suddeldly started demanding such high out goings? What steps can I take on the monthly out goings as the registrar has not paid any heed to my query, can I approach the lower or high court in Mumbai.

You file a suit in civil or consumer court seeking an injunction against society not to collect exorbitant maintenance charges as it is illegal and against bylaws.and obtain stay of collection of maintenance charges till disposal of suit.
You file an injunction suit against cooperative society and get stay of collecting exorbitant maintenance charges till the disposal of suit.You can file suit in civil or consumer court.Prior to that you issue a legal notice of 15 days raising the above contentions.

Yes it is better you approach Co. Op. Registrar and file your case. Registrar are having powers to deal with this issue.

Wrong number. What information you are required to know from the management of the CHS, you are asking here from the experts. You were justified to ask only if the management refused you to provide for the information.
In whichever court you go, even Registrar, your case is going to be flopped, when you don't know how the rates are exorbitant or not justified.

Whether the society is registered under the provisions of Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act or Societies Registration Act, 1860?
Consumer Fora has no jurisdiction to entertain any such complaint as opined/suggested by a respondent hereinabove.
Consult a local lawyer for better appreciation of facts, guidance and proceeding.

i will file a case in the court as the registrar took no action on my complaint.
