parthabandhu guha (Querist) 11 August 2016
suppose a person unknown to me began abusing me. In that case if I record the conversation of myself and that unknown person, will be illegal under any law of India ?
Hemant Agarwal (Expert) 11 August 2016
1. Recording of Telephone conversations of "anybody", is neither legal nor illegal and is useless in a court of law.

2. It can serve, at the maximum as a "persuasive & threat" and subject to certain parameters, even as a secondary evidence.
