If your father-in-law is a dependent as per your school records, then you can claim medical claim. If your husband is also shown your fatherinlaw's name in his office records as dependent then you will be penalized.

Yes our previous expert is right
If in your school records your father-in-law is mention as dependent on you,not with husband, then you can claim.
Means only one of you can claim!

Whether the School is government/ private/ aided / unaided ?
What is the departmental/ School policy on the subject matter ?
It is advisable to consult a local prudent lawyer with relevant details/policy for proper appreciation, guidance and proceeding.

You can check the medical rules governing your service. Normally female employees can include their in laws as dependent provided father and mother not included as dependents.
