What is the advise of your lawyer ? Follow the same.
However, if you are not satisfied with the performance/ guidance of your lawyer change him/her immediately.

Appointment on compassionate appointment in the Department of Posts is being made based on pre-determined, objective and measurable norms so as to avoid court cases in CAT or High Court later.

If the Department has not appointed anyone else having lower marks as per the norms or erroneously put undue weight on other claimants while ignoring your case, your chance of getting a favourable order from CAT is minimal or almost nil in this issue.

During his service or not? After your father's death, you have to submit the application within one year from the date of death of your father. obtain reasons for not considering your compassionate appointment and the move to court by consulting a well knowledge advocate having knowledge in service matters.

You have nowhere stated that father died in service.

You stated he was ex-postmaster which means that he retired.
