Bank transfer received before 1 year

(Querist) 03 February 2016 This query is : Resolved
hello, I have received a bank transfer before 1 year on behalf of cash given by me in another source without seeing the actualy sender. After one year, the sender comes to me asking for money back as the middle man didnt deliver what is agreed for. I have no proof for what that money has come from. He is saying as handloan and middle man said some fake promise to get the money. Now, only proof he have is money sent from his account to my account. Now What is the POINT i can use to be in safe side.

1. You can counter his move by adducing his counter negligence in not having made such issue within fifteen days from that point of time.

He has two option now, he can go to police station and complain that I got handloan or got money for doing some work which is not done and I scammed him. To avoid this, How to make precaution legally ??? suggest me

Have you proof that the money was received by you was sent to you on behalf of your client / customer from whom you wanted to receive money?

There is no direct dealing between you and sender, it is a civil case.

There is no dealing between the sender and me, even I have not seen him.
I have no proof that I gave the received money to the middleman/client.

before he proceed for legal action, Shall I send a Notice that he is claiming money from me ?

You have not mentioned, for what purpose you have posed this query, whether you intend not to return money of the remitter or otherwise?

If you do not want to return the sender's money, why do you want to keep that with you when no tranction occured between you and him?

Also, if he has a proof of remittance, why sould not he try to get back his money?

At first, better clarify the above points.
