An Act to provide for certain matters relating to the territorial waters continental shelf, exclusive economic zone and other maritime zones of India. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-seventh year of the Republic of India as follows:-

SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT

(1) This Act may be called the territorial waters, continental shelf, exclusive economic zone and other maritime zones act, 1976.

(2)Sections 5-and7-shall come into force on such date2or on such different dates as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force at once.
