THE BEEDI WORKERS WELFARE CESS ACT, 1976 ACT NO. 56 OF 1976 [7th April, 1976.] An Act to provide for the levy and collection, by way of cess, a duty of excise on [manufactured beedis] Be it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Beedi Workers Welfare Cess Act, 1976. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central 'Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
