A discussion may be made on Legal Practioners' Fees Rules to arrive at a payment of minimum fees structure to the advocates.

It is sad that Legal Profession which was regarded as the Noble Profession of yesteryears is in tatters right now. Lawyers in India are badly paid. There is huge inequality in distribution of income amongst the lawyers. We either have highly paid lawyers or we have poor lawyers!!This is one fact why LPO's are coming into Indian because of cheap legal services available here.

People come and ask suggestions but never think to pay the fee to a lawyer unless and until they ask them but it is not in the case of any other profession. Dont they pay to a doctor when they visit he/she without even asked by them?

MOST OF THE BIG ADVOCATES WHO HAVE REALLY GOOD PRACTISE DEPEND ON SO CALLED JUNIORS,WHO TAKE CARE OF MOST STAGES OF THEIR CASES.BUT JUNIORS ARE GIVEN A RAW DEAL,IF THEY JOIN AN ADVOCATE ARE NOT PAID ACCORDING TO THEIR JOB,JUST TAKEN FOR GRANTED,SO GOOD ESTABLISHED ADVOCATES DO EARN MORE BUT JUNIORS OR OFFICRES DO NOT EARN AS MUCH AS THEY FORM MAJORITY OF THE ADVOCATE COMMUNITY.SAD BUT TRUE.

senior lawyer always exploit the newcomer lawyer on the basis of the presumption that this is profession for those who are very sound family members. it's my experience that lawyers are being paid with starting remuneration of rs. 2000/- which is very shameful for this intellectual class.

no.lawyers are not paid well in india.there is no unity between senior and junior lawyers.seniors treat juniors as clerks and they say you need to do it as glorius clerks.when we are juniors we remain juniors and no pay and when we become seniors they say we cant effort you r seniors and need to stand on own but the cases to fight needs senior lawyers and all the court premises is captured by long standing seniors.even seniors dont try to pass on the generation to juniors .they take work but pay less and the self image of the junior lawyer goes down and he leaves the profession or enter into multinational companies for high package which indirectly is responsible for loosing good professionals in the society.instead of profession it has become business and we dont find win win situation in this profession.

d mkt is saturated with advocates, and they r ready 2 fight among themselves at any cost, and in front of seniors juniors are treated as advocates with torch of unemployment in their hand.

No, Lawyers are not paid well in India as the law sector is not considered as a business. Also With regards to the growing economy of India the Legal sector and payment of Lawyers have not increased comparitively. So they are not paid accordingly to their skills, qualifications compared to other fields and sectors.

Except for very few senior lawyers who mint money, on an average lawyers are poorly paid in India. The fee structure as it is is very meagre and not on par with the booming economy.
