POLICE SEEK ARREST OF GAYATRI DEVI'S GRANDSON VIJIT SINGH

JAIPUR: Police have moved court seeking cancellation of bail and the arrest of Vijit Singh, a member of the erstwhile Jaipur royal family, who has
been booked for his involvement in a road accident in which a girl was killed and four others injured.

A case under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life) and other provisions of the IPC have been filed against Singh, police said.

The accident occurred on Tonk Road under Gandhinagar Police Station area here on December 16.

Police claimed Singh, who was at the wheel, hit a group of five girls on an educational tour here from Kota while they were crossing the road besides another vehicle.

Singh, who was arrested, was later released by the traffic police on bail.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had on Saturday told DGP K S Bains that the law should take its own course in the case
