Charles D'Sa,Mumbai(retired teacher) Congratulations Sir and all the best to our First Citizen.Request to distribute the cloth/synthetic bags to the BPL card holders as an alternative to the plastic carry bags, to protect the environment.Even the Nationalised banks can do this to their A/C holders instead of distributing calenders to them, during the New year time which is costly and wasteful.

Respected Sir, my heartiest CONGRATULATIONS on your reaching the Highest post in India. It is high time when the problems of our nation are looked into to bring the Country out of chaos. Of late 3rd Aug. 2012, I was at the Court No. 1, NCDRC, New Delhi. The forum was headed by the President of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Hon'ble S/Shri Ashok Bhan. The cases were being put for the next date without any rhyme or reason; even at one case a lady lawyer had requested for an early hearing as her client suffered a huge loss in fire and bankers were going to sue him under SARFESAI, no plea was admitted, but surprisingly the Hon'ble Presdent replied that he has pendency from 1998 and had limited number of Court, as such he can not prepone a hearing. It was the biggest shock for me, because I had seeing the advt. on TV, saying" Jago Grahak Jago"...... isn't it better to let him/her (Grahak) keep sleeping then making hin awake and then ask him to wait for Justice for decades. The consumer complaints are made pending for years by these respectable Members of the Consumer Forums, with a single line "IN THE INTEREST OF JUSTICE".... this is for sure that consumer forums are no more consumer friendly... but more inclined towards product/service sellers. Kindly look into the working as on date of all consumer forums and ensure that Justice is delivered to the Consumer within 90 days (3 Months) as provided in the Consumer Protection Act. 1986; and the cases do not get lingered on say from 1998 as rightly said by The President, NCDRC, New Delhi, on 03.08.2012. If the Govt. of India cannot give Justice to the Consumers for more than a decade, why not better scrap down the Act and leave the Consumer at the Mercy of Product/Services sellers and let them enjoy at the cost of poor consumers. The present state the forums are no way different from the NORMAL courts, where when judgement gets pronounced, it like MAN KAUR (Dead) vs..... Let this not happen atleast in the Consumer Forums

Ex-President Pratibha Patil was a proactive President of India who signed the 97th Constitution Amendment Act, 2011. We hope Pranav Mukherji will guard the same as it concerns unity and integrity of the Nation.
