SC to consider petition on black money in foreign banks

The Supreme Court will consider yet another petition on bringing back black money stashed away in banks abroad.



A bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, Mr Justice M K Sharma and Mr Justice Deepak Verma will hear the petition alleging that Union Government was not taking any interest in getting back the country’s wealth which if brought back to India, can wipe off poverty. of millions of Indians.



The petition include former CEC J M Lyngdoh and former Punjab DGP Julio F Riberio.



Another petition filed by former Union Law Minister Ram Jethmalani, former Secretary General of Lok Sabha Subhash Kashyap and others on the same issue is already pending in the Supreme Court.



The Union Government in its affidavit has submitted before the Supreme Court that it was making all possible efforts to get back the illegal money stashed away abroad.
