Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour & Employment talking to media person in New Delhi yesterday, addressed the following issues-

Commitment made in AP reorganization Act for creation of additional power generation capacity of 4000 MW in the Central Sector for Telangana State: For this purpose, NTPC, Ramagundam Plant is being expanded in two Phases.  In first Phase, two units of 800 MW and in second Phase, three units of 800 MW will be added.  For this, technical feasibility study has been completed and environmental impact study has also been done.  All necessary formalities are completed.  For environment clearance, the Ministry is meeting on 26th November, 2015 and environment clearance is expected thereafter in a couple of weeks, and foundation  stone laying ceremony is scheduled some time in January, 2016.  In the meanwhile, the land for the disposal of Ash needs to be finalized by the Telangana Government in consultation with NTPC.  The present generation capacity of Ramagundam NTPC Plant is 2600 MW of which Telangana State is allocated 726 MW as its share.

Labour & Employment Minister informed that the Bhupalapalli Power Plant of State Government, where 500 MW capacity in Phase-I is already commissioned, another 600 MW in Phase-II is scheduled for commercial operation from this month end.

b.  Solar Parks: Central Government is ready to allocate to Telangana two Solar Parks of 500 MW each, for which the State Government has to provide necessary land.

c. For Separation of domestic and industrial feeders,  Central Government has sanctioned Rs. 800 crores for Telangana State of which Rs. 120 crores is for Warangal District itself.  State Government has to utilize these funds by expediting the works.

By implementing the above projects, the State will be able to have quality and uninterrupted (24 hours) power supply with at least 9 hours power supply for the farmers.

Procurement of Cotton by Cotton Corporation of India (CCI): The Minister mentioned that he had spoken to CMD of CCI and impressed upon him the need for relaxations in specified moisture content and also not to insist on Kisan Identity Cards and online registration as precondition for procurement by CCI, as the farmers will take some time to get familiarized with the new system.  CMD, CCI has assured that he will speak to the local officials and take necessary action so that the procurement of cotton is immediately increased to the level of last year.  The Minister has asked the CMD, CCI to involve Solar Companies in the process of drying of cotton.  CMD assured that this will be examined and necessary norms will be fixed as soon as possible.

New ESI facilities in Telangana State/Hyderabad: The L & E Minister said that Telangana will be having New ESI facilities as well that includes-

(i)  Inauguration of new OPD Block at ESI Hospital, Nacharam, Hyderabad on 21st November, 2015.

(ii)  Laying of foundation stone for the 100 bedded ESIC Hospital at Goshamahal, Hyderabad on 28th November, 2015.

(iii) Laying of foundation stone for the 6 bedded in-patient block in the Patancheru ESI Dispensary, in the first week of December, 2015.

(iv) Inauguration of ESIC Medical College in Sanathnagar along with new OPD Block in Sanathnagar ESI Hospital, in the first week of December, 2015.
