Justice B Sudheendra Kumar of the kerala HC has handover the investigation of murders of two Youth Congress workers, Kripesh and Sharat Lal, to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Taking on account of the brutality of the case and petition filed by the parents, the Court set aside the investigation report submitted by the Crime branch of Kerala Police Department. The Court has observed involvement of top party leaders in the conspiracy for the crime and the charge-sheet filed by the police on the strength of the said investigation cannot lead to a fair trial.

The non-questioning of the Forensic Surgeon with reference to the weapons recovered is a clear indication that there was no proper investigation in the case where two peple were brutally murdered.

The High Court has also observed that this was a political murder, but the police in its report had claimed it to be a personal vengeance. The Court took note that top 3 district leaders of CPM party were trying to hide the accused right after the incident.

The Court has set aside the investigation report by the police and said it to be a planned political murder executed by the accused, protected by the CPM party.
