The Home Ministry is taking all steps necessary for the prevention of cyber crime and very soon we shall further strengthen the Cyber Crime Prevention Strategy, said Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh at Hyderabad today . He participated as the Chief Guest at the 66th passing out parade of the trainee officers of the Indian Police Service held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad.

It is not necessary at all for a cyber criminal to reside in your town or country, as this is an act that can be committed from any corner of the world and can hit anyone, anywhere and anytime, the Home Minister said.

Recalling the personality of country’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Home Minister said that “single handedly he achieved the merger of 562 princely states into the Indian Union with Minimum Violence and Maximum Willingness”. Especially the merger of princely states like Junagarh and Hyderabad are inspiring instances in the annals of country’s post-Independence history. It is for this reason that our government has decided to observe this day as ‘National Unity Day’, Shri Rajnath Singh added.

Congratulating the trainee officers, the Home Minister stressed that the role of the police has to be changed accordingly to the changing times. “The police are the most visible representatives of the state and they are the most meaningful media of change in society”, he said. “Police station to be temple of justice and I also believe that a police official should be experimental with new practices and thereby develop harmony and confidence in society”, he added.

In view of the increase in the number of crimes and their ever newer dimensions, the modernization of police training and the police organization is highly imperative. He informed that the government shall take steps for implementing the Dharamveer Commission-1978 report.

Out of the 143 officer trainees, 28 are women. 15- Officers from friendly foreign countries were also undergone training at the NPA. Shri Abhishek Tiwari of Madhya Pradesh cadre won the Prime Minister’s baton and Home Ministry’s revolver for the best All round officer trainees.

Shri Rajnath Singh told to the trainee officers that your uniform is a matter of pride for you and should be a matter of confidence and satisfaction to the people of the country.
