There is no proposal to amend Section 320 of the Cr.P.C. and Sections 375 and 376 of IPC to enable compounding of certain forms of rape, such as marital rape and the act of obtaining consent on false promise of marriage etc.
There is no proposal to repeal Section 377 of the IPC so as to decriminalize homosexuality.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to a question by Shri B. Senguttuvan in the Lok Sabha today.
