The verdict may dissuade Raja from applying for bail, some legal experts said
The Delhi high court on Friday rejected the bail application of former telecom secretary Siddhartha Behura, one of the 14 people initially accused of wrongdoing in the allocation of 2G spectrum.
Behura was arrested in February along with former minister A. Raja and Raja’s private secretary R.K. Chandolia.
The verdict may dissuade Raja from applying for bail, some legal experts said.
Raja is the only one in the 2G case yet to apply for bail since arrests were made and people were sent to detention in judicial custody at Tihar jail.
Behura is facing charges in the ongoing criminal trial, including criminal breach of trust by a public servant, cheating, conspiracy and corruption under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
