payment of gratuity

I am retired person. I have been appointed on yearly contract basis as a Finance Officer in local Engineering college.I have servied there continuously for 5yrs N 15 days. I have been discounted by new management and they have paid my PF N other benefits but they refused to pay me my gratuity. Since I have worked continuously formore than 5yrs without any break in service .Kindly advice me whether I can file a suit for payment of gratuity as per payment of gratuity act 1972.
