owner asking to vacate house before agreement period is over

Hi members

We have rented a house with 11month agreement. Now the owner is insisting that we pay 1000rs extra towards maintenance after completion of only 6 months. But as per agreement maintenence is included. ( When we said maintenence is already included as per agreement he says what agreement, thats nothing ) .Now he is teling us to vacate if we do not pay extra 1000 Rs. Also he is instructing  the security to not to allow to park our vehicle inside the apartment parking. Please advice on what we can do

Thanks and rgds

Dear Author,

Can you explain the terms and conditions of the agreement? My no. is 09871158578/09711364956

If the Agreement is clear  that rent includes maintenance charges, then the owner cannot insist on your paying any further money, neither can he resort to any illegal action.  You may approach an advocate and get a simple legal notice issued to him based on the agreement.  He will then be deterred from doing any harm to your peaceful occupation.

It is mandatory for you and the owners to inform the police of the area before a tenant is taken. Have you done it? If you have, lodge a complaint with the police and also with the Maharashtra Government.

As advised, send a legal notice.
