Dear Members.  I request you all to help me to know actual facts of my issue.  I am a tenant of a factory shed right from 1.1.2008 for a monthly rent of Rs.10,000/-.  During May 2008, the owner of a building has seen some article in the newspaper about "fair rent" of buildings and he had some calculations and finally served me a notice to accept and pay fair rent of Rs.31,000/- (for 1000 sq ft).  And later he has sent legal notice stating the same during July 2008.  In reply to that my advocate stated that he has collected 1,20,000/- rupees (as 12 months rental advance) which is against rent control act and informed the land owner that i will start deducting  the advance till it reaches 0ne month rental advance.
