i have 60 days notice period but want to serve 40 days and release but they are not alloing even pay in lieu or PL adjustment as i have left with 20 PL.

If i don't serve last 20 days can they stop my relieving letter..or is there any provience that they have to give relieving after deducting my salary part.

It all depends on leave policy of  the Company...Normally employee is expected to give notice period so that they complete the work & hand over the same to some one..

However, the e,ployee can either :

1) adjust the persons leave agst the number of balance leave they have
2) if they have no leave balance then deduct the pay
3) or simply extend the date

which ever suits to both the parties.
