Birth certificate for adopted baby

Hi,

we will be adopting our cousin's baby woth consent from both birth parents. I have the following questions:

1. Adoption deed- in which office should we register the adoption need to legally adopt the baby. How much time would it take to get the registered deed?

2. Adoption deed - would it be explicitly mentioned in the adoption deed that the legal custody of the child is being given to us?

3. Court order- as per Indian law, registered adoption deed is sufficient. But in our case, we also need an approved court order ( for visa purposes). In which office should we apply for court order ? How long would it take to get the approved court order ?

4. What is the process for getting the new birth certificate with our names as parents? In which office should we apply for this? Is it enough if we show the registered adoption deed for getting the new BC? Or do we need to show the court order as well ?

please provide me clarifications. Your guidance would immensely help us.

thanks

You should prepare adoption deed on Rs.100/- stamp papger and should be registered before the sub registrar where you reside.  custody of child should be mentioned in the adoption deed.
