Enforcement of arbitration award

If a credit card company won an arbitration against you do they have to file a lawsuit against you to enforce that arbitration?

As per section 36 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 an arbitration award can be enforced in terms of provisions of Code of Civil Procedure in the manner as if it were a decree of the court.

Rightly said by Sri. RamaKrishna, an arbitration award is decree itself so you have to file execution petition before the concerned District Court so as to realise the decretal amounts.
