Tax on divorce settlement

My wife is asking big amount for settlement on mutually agreed basis. In addition she says that I have to be responsible for tax. I consulted a CA and as per him this being compnesation is not taxed either at my end as payer or at her end as receiver. I am not worried about my end since I have already paid tax but if I have to repay tax on her behalf, it is big extra. Could forum through some light on the matter.

Also once we file the mutually agreed settlement, I understand that it will be minimum 6 months  required to obtain the order. is there any procedure which can exepdite the matter.

this settlement payment is tax free she would be liable to tax on interest income once she deposits this amount in bank but that would be in subsequent years.

the six months waiting period cannot be waived off
