can a government employee from national political party do election duty?

I am a government employee and i belong from family which is connected with national party .I got order for election duty ,,,can I get exemption from election duty?

Dear queriest, it is not a legal query. However, are you a relative of a contested candidate in Assembly/LS elections? If so from where is he contesting and where are you working? State facts clearly.
