Can a pvt society ask for notorised documents and refuse self certified documents

AWHO is a Pvt Society but they are harassing me to submit a notorised copy of Registry of my flat. The Honourable Supreme Court has already declared that self certified documents can be presented for all purposes even name change etc. I also would like to ask whether a Pvt body ask for certified or notorised documents. As I understood only Govt departments could ask for Notorised copies but a private body may not. Please let me know the details of the order.
