Is it necessary to probate a registered will, in chandigarh?

Is it necessary to probate a registered will, in the case of putting a claim for FD and saving bank account of your deceased parent?. Nomination is missing in this case. Case refers to Chandigarh area?.

A registered will is not required to be got probated.Its already a legally valid document to dispose of the properties of testator as per his wishes.

IT is mandatory to probate the WILL in the areas of Bombay, Calcutta, and Madras.

IT is not mandatory to probate the WILL in other areas. IT is not mandatory to register the WILL.

The WILL should just be valid. Unregistered WILL can be acted upon.

The last valid WILL prevails.

IN case WILL has surfaced and brought in knowledge of Bank, IT may ask to get the WILL probated...

yes required if nominee is not mentioned in account.
