Money given to husband sister at the time of marraige

Hi,

At the time of my marraige we have given 50k rupees to my husnband sister as adapaduchu katnam. can you please  tell me if this comes under as dowry or not. my husband and his family not took any other dowry. But as i mentioned we gave adapaducu katnam. I just want to verify if this can be claimed as dowry.  recently i am facing lot of problems from my husband family and i want to file divorce and DV case. But my lawyer says money given to husband and his parents only will be considered as dowry. all otherthings will be considered as customary gifts. Also this money was given  during marraige so he says any thing exchanged during  marraige/mararige day will not be conidered as dowry. can you please give me your suggetions.

regards

if the same has given by you in any custom it will be treated as gift not dowry. Rightly suggested.

whether this amount was given as a consideration of marriage i.e. no money no marraige?
