Lost DD was cleared in CTS clearing presented by other

Party has claimed that DD which I gave to him for a payment,was denied by a bank due to non presence of issuing officer signature on it and the DD is already cleared in CTS clearing but how that DD can be cleared in CTS clearing without the signature. Please guide me ...
