RBI never sends any mail to any individual. If you receive any mail purported to be from RBI, its a sham mail. Do not respond.

Please see the press release by RBI

I agree with Shri Sivaramaprasad.

However, I would like to know whether there exists any procedure to report such fake correspondence to any authorities?

Dear Shri Gandhi Mohan Bharati, To the best of my knowledge there is no procedure. But it is quite logical to inform the organisation in whose name the fake mail came. But in RBI to whom this has to be reported is the issue. Better to take a print of the fake mail, write a letter addressed to the Governor of RBI and send by speed post or courier. Hopefully, such letter will ultimately land on the table of the concerned who is likely to take action or cognizance of such a thing happening for tracing the sender etc.

RBI is very much approachable.

RBI shall write in case a complaint is made to RBI.

On the same email trail, write to Governor.

Beware of such spammers, phishing attacks.
