Pre-independence acts

Laws that were not violating the constitution provisions were continued. Those laws which were fully or partially violating were either removed or enabled by successive amendments all these years. The line of demarcation is date of adoption of the constitution and not the date of independence.

The laws which was use at the time of British ruls has get extenshion of constitutional validity which are continue laws if on that any rule violate the constitutional laws that time constitutional laws are the valid and other provisions are in eclips.

article 13 (1) of the constitution reads

 

1) All laws in force in the territory of India immediately before the commencement of this Constitution, in so far as they are inconsistent with the provisions of this Part, shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, be void.
