Registration and stamp duty of flat purchased in 1979

My Father had purchase the flat at 7 bunglows, andheri west, mumbai in the year of 1979. we had paid the stamp duty of rs 5/-. My Question is do we need to register the flat and have to pay the stamp duty again. if yes then how much do I have to pay the amount. Thank you

 Answer in the attachment. 

Registration department is making a fool of us. Sorry, they are not making fools. We are fools ourselves to get our flats, after payment of stamp duty registered. No registration of a flat in a registered CHS is required.

The rate of stamp duty depends on the nature of deed, that and you are going to register. For sale deed it is 8%  (In tamilnadu).
