My friend is working in xyz software company and by ignorance moved some of the technical documents from client email to company email and then forwarded to personal id.
Client has esacalated the matter and compnay has locked his acount and did further investigation with him.He have deleted all data from the all the emails and confirmed same with company. He have provided all support and given in undertaking and in show cuase notice that He have transfered files to support projects further after reelase from that project/assignment and for repository purpose moved file to his personal email id.
Company agreed but now they need notarise affidaviate from him which states very strict points like incase of any loss or damage of any nature to client and company then he will be liable due to this act. also he need to take full laibality that he have knowingly transfer cleint sensitive data to his personal email id and will support in all investigation.
His worry is if cleint put any penalty to company then he will be liable and not sure how much need to pay?
He need to know concequences in case he dont sign this affidavite? Also he had data IP agreement with company when he joined with company.
Please suggest what should he do?
