Incorrect boundary in sale deed

My dad bought a plot around 20 years back. I figured out that one of the boundaries is given incorrectly. For eg: instead of say bound on east side by plot no 60, it says bound on east by plot no say 85. Can my dad just register a declaration deed giving the correct boundary now as it seems to be just a typo? Or should we go for a rectification deed? Its around 20 years and we do not even know where the original seller is? So please advice!
