Stamp duty for registration of lease agreement in m.p

Dear all,

I want to enter lease agreement with Landlord for 6 years in Madhyapradesh. The property will be used for commercial purpose. I planned to register the lease agreement. Please let me know What is the percentage I need to pay as Stamp Duty.

The stamp duty will differ in every state. You have to pay stamp duty for the whole period for whole rent of 6 years it will come to a subtantial amount. Better you consult a lawyer, and remember that every lease deed for more than 12 months is compulsarily registrable and if not registered it is of no value.
