Requirement of couple during registration of marriage

whether marriage registration requires presence of the newly wedded couple?

Yes. With all the originals, proof of age, proof of residence, proof of marriage/photographs/Temple or priest certificate and decree of divorce if any of them is divorcee or death certificate of previous spouse if widow or widower. In some cases Aadhar card is mandatory. Also required number of witnesses with original ID proof.
