Dear Sir,
My fathers farm land just borders the slum nearby. It is registered recently
on his name. What are the mandatory papers one should have in hand when some
unfortunate things happens like encroachement, panchayat development project etc.,.
Also I would like to know some book in Tamil/English which explains in detail
about rules, survey number, rights,law points etc., for Land. I basically need
to learn the nuke and corner of this subject.

original document to show that your are the owner of the property and Property Extract. These are the important documents.

In Tamilnadu, along with the original document the land owner is supposed to have the patta issued by the Tahsildar and the Sitta and Adangal issued by the VAO in the name of the same owner to get the documentation of ownership complete. If the mutation of title has not been done so far, after registration of title, you can obtain the patta, sitta and adangal from the respective officials by applying for the same, by providing photostat copies of the registered title document.
