Ther e has been much hue and cry over the garland of thousan rupee notes presented tothe UP Chief Minister, Mayawati. She is being blamed on every count. We should, in fact, be grateful to her for awakening us of the abyss we have landed ourselves. The governance in this country has been divorced of morality and accountability. Everyone in power believes that law is what they say and practise.. We have been accustomed it and adapted to it without batting too many an eye lid. Mayawati has reminded that abuse of law cannot but be but be perverse and any perversity can be extended to be the ridiculous, if not atrocious. Thus she has held a mirror to us.
