Contradictory statement in divorce petition?

Dear LCI Experts,

petition filed for the divorce case by the petitioner ,if any contracdictory statemetents will be there, can it is used as evidence by the respondent to prove the statement is false?

If the respondent feels the statements in the petition are contradictory, he has to cross examine the petitioner to bring out the contradiction into light during the evidence stage.
