How to get back documents submitted to court?

Hi,

Please advise on the following.  Original Documents such as Degree Certificates, Mark Sheets, Appointment Letters were submitted to the Court in Original as part of the Child custody dispute based on the understanding that the documents can be got back.

But the lawyer is saying we cant get the documents back easily and we need to move an application to the court and go through Hearing, adjournement process.

Can someone kindly advise what is the correct process and procedure to get these original documents back from the court ?

Thanks

1. He is more or less right for an ongoing trial case procedure if same was asked for its return.
2. The way out now is to first seek certified copies of the marked originals and then submit the certified copy with an Application to return originals back to party via giving Notice to Admit application.

Thank you Sir. The opposite party is hell bent on causing blocks and delays wherever possible to delay the case and frustrate our side. They are doing this purely to make us frustrated and delay/ deny justice.  Is there a chance they could object to us getting the originals back on any count. How do we circumvent this ?
