Unfortunately me and my wife have decided to apply for a divorce under mutual concent. We have been living seperatly for 1 year now and plan to apply for the divorce petition in May. I heard in the news that there are some changes to the Hindu marriage act where the 6 months cooling period is removed.Can you please tell me if there is got into effect now or when will it come to effect ?

Ur MCD petition will take definitely less time c.f. this law coming into force

Go for MCD, the law making is too slow a process in India.
