Dear Sirs,
Can anyone throw light on the process of enrolment with Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh for someone who passed BL final exam in the year 1998? The information I have is he does not have to write any examination for that, he can directly get enrolement.

yes if any one completed their decree before the accodimic year 2011, then no need to write the Bar council examination.

Whether BL degree is recognised by the BCI?

As LL.B. full form is very difficult to remember, some universities call it B.L. There is no difference between B.L. and LL.B. LL.B. is not graduation for B.L. because, like Bachelor of Arts, which is a Degree, Bachelor of Law is also a Degree. It is not an undergraduate course.

So far my knowledge goes BL is treated as a general Degree and not a professional degree course. In five year integrated LLB Course students are awarded BL after successful completion of three years and then they are awarded LLB.

PS : BL may qualify for recognition by BCI provided admission to this course is open only for graduates. You may refer rule 2 of the legal education rules of the BCI ( Part - IV ).
