Poa for signing final divorce papers - addendum

Case if filed in city X and the party in question is a resident of city Y.

In case POA is permitted for even signing mutual consent petition, will the POA be required to be registered in the city X or city Y?

As far as I know for mutual consent divorce both party should appear in party in first and the date after six months.

For city  question - there are laws governing the jurisdiction - if they have lived in one of the city and other is place where one of the party is currently living, the divorce petition can be filled in any of the two cities.

I guess both parties should be present  for both motions..it happens only where the marriage took place and the residence of girl after marriage ie the boys place.

Few HC have allowed MCD/ Divorce contesting by PoA.

Few have declined. Which HC your case is in.
