way to get the date of birth corrected ?

please forgive me if i put the question in wrong category. Could anybody here please tell me that is there any way to get the mistake in the date of birth rectified. Here are the facts

i did high school from CBSE in 1998.

i dont have any legal proof for my date of birth, only a very old register containing the DOB's of many people in my family maintained by my uncle in the village as at that time we stayed together there. My actual date of birth differs from the DOB in the marksheet around 6 months .

you need to approach a civil court by way of filing a suit for declaration against your parents/guardians regading the wrong entry of DOB

First issue notice u/s 80 of CPC to the Dist., Commissioner and DDPI to make correction in the date of birth within 60 days from he date of receipt of the notice, they wont do it after the mandatory period file a suit or declaraition and injunction
