WOMEN: Laws and Judicial Pronouncements" a Book Published to empower women with their rights

NEW DELHI, May 15, 2009, 17.00 Hrs (CBCI News):

A book named "WOMEN: Laws and Judicial Pronouncements" by Sr. Jessy kurian was released on 9th May at Constitution Club, New Delhi by Justice Altamas Kabir, Judge Supreme Court of India, giving the first copy to Ms. Sheila Diksh*t, the Chief Minister of Delhi.

Sr. Jessy kurian is a Member of National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Govt of India. 

The Book contains most of the laws related to women in India and the landmark judgements passed by the Supreme Court and the High Courts in India to this effect. Its objective is to empower women with their rights and also to conscientise men that women are equal to them. Thereby to establish gender justice and equality in Indian society.

Addressing the gathering Chief Minister said this book is so important and relevant that it will be introduced in all the schools in Delhi for the students.
