advise required on a criminal appeal in High Court

Hi, one of my friend (accused) has been acquitted in a 138 case. The Complainant has gone for an appeal challenging the judgement, recently my rec'd the notice from high court, Pls advise is it necessary that appearance of my friend is necessary in all the hearing apart from the exemption application.

Dear querist,

Mark your presence on the day mentioned on summon. Engage a advocate and file your version of statement. Whenever required court will ask for your personal presence then you have to present otherwise in routine manner your advocate will represent you.
